Presbyterian Women

Purpose Statement: Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves: to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible Study; to support the mission of the church worldwide; to work for justice and peace; and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God's Kingdom.
Presbyterian Women meet in the Fireside Room on the 1st Thursday of the month at 10:30 and the 3rd Thursday at 1:30 pm. The first meeting of the month is our Fellowship and Study meeting when one of our group leads the study undertaken for the year from the Horizons Study Guide. As we have a different leader each month this makes for interesting and varied lessons. Our second meeting of the month is our Program meeting and usually is presented by a local group or organization to help us understand more fully the many facets of our community.
During the year we sponsor and participate in many events, several of them fundraisers, enabling us to participate in Presbyterian and non-Presbyterian Mission Giving. Events include: preparing mailings for Summer Camp; Christian Women's Luncheons; Women's R&R/Women's Weekend Retreat; Valentine Candy Sale; World Day of Prayer; Birthday Brunch; sewing at Westminster Woods; Spring Blossom Tea; Pot Luck Luncheons; Pie Sale; Book Sale; Benefit Lunch and Game Day; Mendocino Christian Camp Retreat; Christmas Bazaar and Luncheon. Presbyterian Women is open to all women members and friends of the congregation. We are a warm, friendly and supportive group that cares for each other and we extend an invitation to join us at any of our meetings.
