Local and Global Mission Connections
We collect protein for the local Food Bank here in town- Peanut Butter and Tuna. We have financially and materially supported Habitat For Humanity, The Baptist soup kitchen, the Gleanings Soup kitchen, Hospitality House, Mendocino Coast children’s fund, Project Sanctuary, Safe Passage Family Resource Center, and the Teen Center. We work with the Lighthouse church to serve a potluck meal to the homeless once a month. We are part of the winter shelter project , and house homeless men during extreme weather conditions. Our church is connected with the Donaldina Cameron House in San Francisco. We have sent a mission team to work with them in the city, and they send VBS caravans up to work with our vacation Bible school annually.
We have just chosen to support 3 older children through Compassion International. these children will now receive adequate medical and dental care, as well as proper schooling and religious instruction.
We have a sister church in Limuru , Kenya, St. Peter Nduma Presbyterian church. We recently completed a goat project through Heifer International, delivering 23 dairy goats to the church and surrounding community. We raised $8,232 over two years to make it happen. They currently have 5 new baby goats! We hope to assist them in building their new sanctuary.
We have also been involved with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, sending a team to Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina. We are also connected with Seeds of Learning, a nonprofit organization that builds schools in Nicaragua and El Salvador. We sent a mission team to Nicaragua in 2006.
